On-Set Production – Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show: Launch Party Shoot
On-Set ProductionA side project I have undertaken this semester is the role of videographer for the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show (ECFS). ECFS is the UK’s largest sustainable fashion show and Scotland’s largest student fundraiser. As of now I have shot the launch party at Bongo in collaboration with events organiser Andromeda. I have been working alongside Creative Director Chiara to coordinate and plan out upcoming shoots, but it has been a challenge to commit to shoots alongside university work.
Launch Party Edit
I’m pretty proud of how the first video for ECFS turned out and was given a brief open to my interpretation. The brief was to shoot a one-minute video showcasing the launch party and the atmosphere of the evening. It was a great experience to take my equipment to an event, meet new people who had assigned me a brief and would be my collaborators for future projects, and shoot that same night.
To improve upon my videography I watched videos on YouTube about how to reduce grain/noise within the image when shooting in low-light settings. I also want to practice different camera movements as I tend to play it safe and opt for static shots. Additionally I want to improve my ability to pull focus whilst operating my camera.
