As the shoot for ‘Forget Me Not’ was now several weeks ago, we are moving steadily into post-production to edit together our footage, add sound design and colour-grade. Ben Sutherland is our editor, and we will be using AVID and Pro Tools for the duration of post-production.

Post-Production Schedule

For post-production, we’ve booked ourselves in for two supported sessions on AVID Media Composer, and then another two for Pro Tools. Whilst we won’t finish editing over these four sessions, it will be a chance to ask any questions whilst we have the advice and input from experienced tutors and technical support.

As the producer, I’m not overly sure of my role in post-production or the degree of involvement I should have. Despite this, I’ve offered to drop in on sessions to review progress and give feedback and notes – but I’m not sure how useful it would be to have me sitting there in addition to our director Molly, who is making majority of the creative decisions.

I’ve edited several times before on various software, so I know how time-consuming and draining the process can be so I’ve opted to give Ben and Molly some space to work without having me there to potentially overwhelm them.

Nevertheless, I look forward to learning from the post-production process from the perspective of a producer, and hopefully we will have an assembly, rough cut, and final cut within the next week or so.
