Film Form – Shoot
Film FormDay 1
Unfortunately I was unable to be present for the first day of shooting as I was the director for my Film Adaptation shoot and the shooting schedules overlapped and couldn’t be changed. In future I’d try to prevent this from happening, but with actors, locations, and work commitments, it’s difficult to find shoot dates that work for everyone.
From the updates I received the first day of shooting went well and Joseph kindly stood in as script supervisor for me.
Day 2
The second day of the shoot was another night shoot based at Bruntsfield Links. I was acting as script supervisor focusing primarily on continuity, details, and general note-taking shot-to-shot. Sean and Michael did a great job and so did the rest of the crew. It’s always interesting shooting at night because you have a different experience and run into problems you wouldn’t in the daytime.
Day 3
The third day of the shoot was a night shoot in Newington at India’s flat. We ran into some issues as we were shooting outside on the street and had to deal with members of the public. The next door flat decided to blast music which obviously became an issue for getting clean dialogue/sound, so we had to shoot without sound.
Overall, the shoots went well and we ran into minor problems we were quickly able to resolve.
